Adapting to the new lifestyle: Here’s how you can minimize your ‘pain’ while working from home

Work From Home

Even after one and a half years, the COVID-19 infection continues to wreak havoc across the world. To curb the rising infection cases, almost the entire world had gone into lockdown. In the meantime, several things changed including office work. Eventually, ‘Work from Home’ became a common term in everyone’s life. There’s no denying that ‘Work From Home’ is a decent option to keep people safe from infection without hindrance in official works. However, due to this, various kinds of health problems have risen among people.

According to health experts, working in one place for a long time and keeping the body position the same for a long time induces various health problems. In this article, we will inform you about the measures that can be used to get rid of back pain and other problems arising due to ‘Work For Home’.

Use a back support

Health experts say that since nothing can be said for how long the pandemic will last, everyone working from home should use a chair that supports their lower back so that the spine remains in its natural shape. Continuously working by bending too much in front changes the shape of the spine which is the primary reason for back pain. One may also use a pillow between the chair and the waist for extra support.

Sit properly while working

Needless to say, it is very important to sit properly while working. Due to sitting diagonally, the posture of the body deteriorates, which can have a direct effect on the lower back. One should make sure that while working, the feet are flat on the ground and your back is straight while sitting. Also, make sure that the back of the knees are not touching the chair as this can put pressure on the blood vessels.

Keep your laptop properly

The screen of your PC should be about a foot away from the eyes. One should make sure that the eyes are level with the top of the monitor. One shouldn’t have to raise his/her head too much or tilt the head down to see the monitor. One should avoid leaning the head down to look at the monitor as it puts pressure on the back of the neck, which causes pain in the spine and back.

Take breaks during work

To avoid the problem of back pain during work from home time, the most important thing is to take a break and move around. One may also perform some neck rotation exercises at this time. The person should keep stretching the muscles so that the circulation of blood in all parts of the body remains constant.
