One of the biggest business masterminds of India, Anand Mahindra shared his opinions about the newly introduced Corona relief plan which is said to be of ₹20 lakh crores. Indian tycoon and Chairman of the Mahindra Group reacted to the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he addressed the nation on Tuesday.
“We will know tomorrow whether or not this is going to be a transformational moment like 1991,” said Mahindra while referring to the liberalization of the country’s economic policies that occurred in 1991.
While continuing on the topic, Anand Mahindra described the presidential speech as a “carpe diem” speech – “an opportunity to change the narrative from ‘Survival’ to ‘strength,’”. This was posted by Mahindra on Twitter on Tuesday night, post the President’s speech.
He further added, “What I also believe is I won’t get much sleep tonight!” tweeted Mahindra.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and announced that ₹20 lakh crores were earmarked to benefit the degrading economy. PM Modi said that the package will benefit all sections of the society from the migrant laborers to big businesses alike. He stated that the details of the forthcoming package would be detailed in the coming days.
“It is a special economic package that will serve as an important link to the ‘Self-reliant India Campaign (Aatma Nirbhar Bharat). The relief package amounts to roughly 10% of India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP),” he said.
It is yet to see what benefits this relief package brings to the distressed masses of India whose finances face a tumbledown due to the implementation of a lockdown for around 2 months.
