Google India employee diagnosed with COVID-19

Recently, Google India confirmed that one of its employees in Bangalore office has been
diagnosed with COVID-19. Also, Mindtree and Dell had declared the case of Coronavirus infection of their employee in Bangalore. With the recent confirmation by Google India, the total number of techies infected by COVID-19 in Bangalore has increased to 3. Coronavirus
has its first toll in Kalburgi, Karnataka where a 76-year-old succumbed to the deadly virus.
The deadly virus is infecting Indians at an alarming rate, so far 74 people in India have been confirmed of COVID-19 infection. Globally, the number is much higher and stands at
133,000, including the cases of Mainland China and Italy.
Google India, vide a statement given to Moneycontrol, has confirmed that one of its employees in Bangalore office has been diagnosed with COVID-19. The said employee was
in Google India, Bangalore office a few hours before he developed the symptoms of
Coronavirus. The unfortunate employee has been sent on leave and is on quarantine since he was diagnosed positive of the infection. Google has advised the colleagues who were in close contact with the fated employee to quarantine themselves. The colleagues have also been asked to monitor their health conditions.
The statement released by Google India in Moneycontrol also says that out of caution the
Google Bangalore office has been shut for a day and employees have been asked to work from home. The company claims to take all necessary precautionary measures and affirms to abide by public health official’s advice.
