A ‘CoWIN’ Challenge has been launched by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare co-ordinating with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. This challenge has been launched to improve the system of the COVID-19 Vaccine Intelligence Network (CoWIN). The challenge will be on a digital platform that is intended to be used as an effective rollout method and enhance the mechanism for nationwide COVID-19 vaccine delivery system.
According to the information, the winners of this Challenge will be awarded gifts worth of ₹3.85 crore. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that India’s innovators have played a very essential role in our fight against the pandemic. He invited all interested innovators and start-ups within the country to participate in this ‘CoWIN’ Challenge which is intended to strengthen the platform for vaccination program across the country.
Prasad further added that various innovative start-ups and emerging tech experts have been invited to participate in this important challenge. Interested people can register on the challenge’s designated website. The registration will start from 23 December and the last date will be 15 January. The top five applicants will be provided with the CoWIN API (Application Programming Interface), which will prove the effectiveness of their solutions with the platform.
As per the notification issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in this matter, all the applicants selected for this stage will have a chance to win up-to ₹2 lakh. Once the applicants’ solution is integrated with the platform through the Open API, its robustness and scalability will be evaluated. The top two contestants of the challenge will get prizes of ₹40 lakh and ₹20 lakh respectively.
