Before Diwali, Pakistan has once again tried to dent India’s celebration of gaiety by breaching armistice. On Friday, Pakistan violated the ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tangdhar sector and many other places with the intention of disturbing the atmosphere during the festival. Three Indian Army soldiers were killed in the shelling by Pakistan. One Gurez sector and two Uri sector soldiers were martyred in the firing. In retaliation, the Indian Army killed eight Pakistani soldiers including the commandos of the Special Service Group of the Pak Army. Around 10-12 Pakistani soldiers have also been injured.
The firing started in three sectors near the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said that the ceasefire agreement was violated at Izamarg in the Gurez sector of Bandipora district. A few minutes later, the firing was carried out in the Keran sector of Kupwara district. Army also said the Pakistani Army opened fire on Indian posts in the Uri sector of Baramulla. The Indian Army has given a befitting reply in all sectors.
Pakistan has suffered heavy losses in the retaliation of the Indian Army. Several bunkers and launch pads of the Pakistan Army have also been destroyed.
SDM Baramulla, Reyaz Ahmad Malik informed that three civilians were killed and several people were injured in ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control in the same sector.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi saluted the soldiers of the country. He also tweeted and said that let’s salute our brave soldiers who fearlessly protect our nation by lighting a diya for them as a tribute.
