Coming Monday Fatorda stadium in goa will be the center of attraction for all football lovers. FC Goa will be hosting last year’s champion FC Bengaluru at Fatorda stadium, and for obvious reason, FC Goa will be aiming to win over the home match. Last year’s ISL had sent the adrenaline rush off the roof when the best teams, Gaurs, and Blues had presented a cutthroat tussle. The game was all set-in favor of FC Goa until Rahul Bheke had shown a miraculous game exhibiting the winning steak in a few minutes from the end of extra time. The loss to Goa FC was all the more heartbreaking as it was the second time that they had lost the ISL final. Both the teams are known to be most consistent and have been raising bars for other ISL clubs.
Encouraging his team, head coach of Goa FC MR. Sergio Lobera said that loss of final is a thing in the past, and it’s better to leave it there. He showed confidence in his team and asserted that he is proud of his players and is hopeful that his team will play as well as last year’s final. He also said that the team needs to improve on the defense strategies and shall opt for defending in set-pieces. It is noteworthy that last year, Bheke had scored from a corner.
Mr. Carles Cuadrat, head coach of Bengaluru FC also praised the Goa team, terming them as a wonderful team. He said that Monday’s match will be challenging, though the points are important at the beginning of the season.
So far, Goa FC has started on a high pitch by setting a marvelous game of 3-0 against Chennai FC. While Bengaluru FC could start with a goalless draw against NorthEast United FC. Monday’s match at Fatorda stadium will see Goa attacking while Bengaluru will be defending.
