COVID-19 has entered into 3rd stage of the pandemic in India. In a bid to control and prevent the spread of the infection offices, schools and colleges have been shut down. People have been advised to work from home and have been asked to restrict going out of the home. Most of the people are not coming out of their houses unless it is strictly necessary. In such a situation, where people are mostly working from home, the consumption of data has increased multifold. Considering the situation, Jio and BSNL have come up with attractive offers on data consumption.
Amidst COVID-19 outbreak in India, Jio and BSNL have offered discounted packages on data. BSNL has offered free broadband for one month to BSNL landline subscribers and who do not have broadband. BSNL has also rolled out discounted OTT content packages, such as Bharatfibre and BharatAirfibre broadband services. Also, BSNL VPN services have been offered for corporates for secure data network services, when most of the employees are working from home.
Jio has also upgraded its 4G data vouchers and has offered double data and more of net minutes to its consumers. Jio has released new 4G vouchers for Rs. 11, Rs. 21, Rs. 51 and Rs. 101 and doubled the data uses limits to 800 MB, 2 GB, 6 GB, and 12 GB respectively. The new vouchers will also have voice calls facilities to non-Jio numbers, for 75, 200, 500 and 1000 minutes, in the same order. This is a big relief to people in these difficult times.
