If there is one state in India where Coronvirus has evidently wreaked most havoc, it is Maharashtra. No other state shows as many cases as just Maharashtra does. This raises concerns about what strategies are being implemented and what has been going wrong in Maharashtra to have led to this situation.
While the Coronavirus case in India, as a whole, has crossed the 250,000 mark on Monday, Maharashtra alone has 85000 of those numbers. These latest numbers have been released by the Ministry of Health as per which there are 7,135 people who have succumbed to the disease.
The Health Ministry updated Maharashtra’s Covid-19 cases tally to 85,975 on Monday morning. As per a report by John Hopkins University on Covid-19 tally, China – the epicenter of the pandemic – has reported around 84,191 coronavirus cases as of today.
The Bigger Concerns of India
Right now, the increasing number of cases in Maharashtra is a concern. A worrisome 3,060 people have lost their lives in Maharashtra alone. The other states following Maharashtra are Tamil Nadu where 31,667 cases have been detected out of which 269 people have lost their lives.
When it comes to death cases, Gujarat is not far away as the total number of cases went to 20,070 on Monday out of which 1,249 people have died.
All is not bad
While these states are facing grave dangers, there are others who have managed to flatten the curve. Chandigarh, Manipur, Goa, Nagaland, and Himachal Pradesh have reported under 500 cases or even less. Puducherry, Meghalaya, Ladakh, Sikkim, Dadra Nagar Haveli have less than 100 cases and Andaman and the Nicobar Islands have a 100% recovery rate.
