Due to the formation of low pressure over the areas of Bay of Bengal, a cyclonic storm has developed. The Meteorological Department estimates that the storm will cross the Karaikal coasts of Mamallapuram and Puducherry in Tamil Nadu on 25th November. The storm has been named ‘Nivar’. Cyclone Nisarge is on its way to Mumbai and has made landfall between Murud and Revdanda in Maharashtra’s Raigad district.
