After seeing a bumper rise of 28% in the daily collection of toll fee collection from Rs. 68 crores to Rs. 87 crores per day, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to further promote the use of FASTags. To promote the use of FASTags, The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has initiated a scheme to distribute FASTags free from 15th February to 29th February 2020. On 15th January 2020, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has mandated 100% digitization of toll collection. The policy is supposed to decongest the national highways, reduce fuel consumption and save commute time.  What is FASTag?
