On Sunday, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari made it clear that no relaxation will be provided regarding the penalty for not using FASTag for toll collection. Actually, the central government has made toll collection mandatory via FASTag from midnight of 15th and 16th February. After seeing a bumper rise of 28% in the daily collection of toll fee collection from Rs. 68 crores to Rs. 87 crores per day, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to further promote the use of FASTags.
