Acknowledging the responses of people regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, the government has made significant changes to the Aarogya Setu mobile app. The Aarogya Setu app developers have added a direct option for vaccine registration to make the process easier for the application users.
Till now, there was a single option for both vaccine registration and other vaccine-related information on the Aarogya Setu app, due to which the users faced difficulties in selecting the registration option, but now a third option is available exclusively for the vaccination purpose.
After providing the phone number, an OTP will be generated after which further required processes will initiate. In this way, any ordinary person can easily get themselves registered for the vaccine within minutes.
Apart from this, a CoWin link is also available on the Aarogya Setu app in which important information about the vaccine, certificate, dashboard and login options will be available. Along with this, data about fresh COVID-19 cases is also accessible on the app.
A Health Ministry official said that after receiving the OTP, the user needs to complete an identity verification process. The official further stated that documents like Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, Pension Passbook or Voter Card can be used for verification purpose.
After this, personal information such as the beneficiary’s name, date of birth will have to be provided by the user. This step will consume a maximum of two to three minutes only. On completion of this step, the user will receive a message regarding the centre, time and date of the vaccination.
From March 1, the second phase of COVID-19 vaccination has begun in the country. So far, around 2 crore people have been successfully vaccinated nationwide. According to the Ministry, the elder citizens were facing problems related to the registration process due to which these important changes have been made.
